Assessment Day

Well me Mum got assessed today . It was mostly a quiz to see how much she is functioning in this world, its not a lot really.. 30 questions of such mentally challenging content as , Whats your name ?", "Where do you live?", "What is the date ?" & so forth. Mum got 6 right. I had heard a little of what she has been up to, but got the full story from her case worker. He is a really nice gentle & quiet sort of a chap, that really inspires confidence. It would seem that Mum has been wandering a lot & going into other patients room & getting angry when told that she has to leave, insisting that its her room. She is also starting to get stroppy with the staff when they help her undress for showering etc. Would appear that the Kowhai Wing is gonna be her new home, the secure wing. At least her one friend will be there too, as she got assessed today as well. Seems that she has about 2 or 3 years of mobility left then will probably end up bedridden & in the hospital wing. Not much to look forward to is it ? At least with her short term memory loss, she wont remember much of it. Not like us........
